Short Notes on JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, PHP & MySQL
JavaScript is a client-side scripting language that is used to add interactivity to web pages. For example: When you click a command button, JavaScript implements the commands.
AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is a technique for creating interactive web applications. It allows web pages to be updated asynchronously, without reloading the entire page.
I use AJAX and JavaScript together because they complement each other very well. So, JavaScript is used to make web pages more dynamic and responsive, while AJAX is used to update web pages without reloading the entire page.
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format that is used to transmit data between a web server and a web browser in a very efficient and easy-to-read format.
I use JSON with JavaScript for receiving data from the user input and then sending it to the server and again to receive the requested data from the server and to present it to the user.
PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a popular versatile language for web development. It is a server-side programming language that processes user requests from the browser and retrieves data from the back end and sends it back to the browser. It is, also, used to store and retrieve data from a database, and to update the data in a database.
I use JSON with PHP to receive data from the web server through PHP and send it to the web browser in a very efficient, lightweight, and easy-to-read format whereafter JavaScript receives the data from JSON.
MySQL is a powerful relational database management system (RDBMS) that is used to store your data, as you do in Excel or Microsoft Access or SQL Server databases.
